Dmitry Gretsky and Eugenia Kats were born in St. Petersburg in 1970. In 1989 they finished the St. Petersburg Art College named after N. K. Roerich. In 1995 they graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after Ilya Repin. They were teaching in St. Petersburg Art College named after N. K. Roerich for two years. In 1999, Dmitry Gretsky and Eugenia Kats moved to Canada, founded the Artville Academy of Art and Design in Toronto and taught there until 2009. Nowadays the artists live and work in their studio in Innisfil, Ontario.

 

Since 1989, they have participated in various exhibitions of contemporary art and Art Fairs. Since 1993 they have been holding solo exhibitions in Europe and the United States. Among all the artist’s creativity, the most recent exhibition titled NARCISSUS stands out clearly. The artists are represented by Marina Gisich Gallery, St.Petersburg, Russia, Triumf Gallery, Moscow, Russia, and AG Contemporary Art, New York, NY.

The works of Gretsky and Kats can be found in many famous museum collections as well as private: in the State Russian Museum, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the EKATERINA Culture Foundation, etc. Dmitry Gretsky has numerous awards and nominations.
